Have you ever been to Japan ? Do you know where it is ? Do you know how Japanese people live ? Japanese people have many differences in culture from American culture. Would you like to know what the differences are?
Our task during our study of Japan will be to look at some of the different aspects of Japanese culture that make them different from Americans. We will be looking at food, clothing, housing, sports, language, and more. After we have done research on some of the differences, we will be creating presentations that illustrate some of these difference. Students will be presenting in teams of 3. Research can be done either by using the internet, or by going to the library and using sources such as books, magazines and newspapers. Presentations can be given to the class in any style including: posters, powerpoint presentations, artifacts or models. Presentations should be approximately 5 minutes long.
Students will be given time during the school day to work in the library. Additionally, I will be staying after class 2 days a week, Tuesday and Thursday, for students who need computer access.
